Frederick Chopin (1810-1849)
Chopin was a small, sickly fellow who lived quite a tumultuous life. He moved to France in 1831 due to the war and never returned home to his beloved Poland. One of the most commonly discussed topics of this composer's life is his unhappy relationship with George Sand (MISS George Sand). Miss Sand, a large, masculine woman, was a journalist. Her wardrobe was rather "masculine," as well as her manner. Chopin, on the other hand, was a small, delicate and sickly man who hovered at around 100 pounds his entire life. His dress was more on the "frilly" side... rather feminine... They made quite a spectical I'm sure! Chopin was very tempermental and would often lock himself away for days at a time without food or rest, raging over a small piece of music that he couldn't complete to his satisfaction. On his deathbed, he insisted that much of his work be destroyed, feeling it was sub-par. Fortunately, his request was NOT granted! This is my favorite composer by a long shot!
