Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827)

This is the composer that lost his hearing. Many of his most famous works were completed while Beethoven was COMPLETELY deaf. "Für Elise" (For Elise) is perhaps his most popular piano piece. He wrote the piece for a 14 year old girl named Therese von Brunsvik, who some believe to be Beethoven's "Dearly Beloved." You see, the composer had asecret love in his life. Speculation runs rampant as to who, exactly, the woman was. Don't let anyone tell you "they've fugured it out for sure, it was so-n-so."! What they mean is, "I've heard a theory that I am convinced is correct." Here is an interesting Link, if you'd like to begin your own investigation.
